Cryptogram Puzzle Post is an ongoing puzzle story about a young witch called Anna, exploring the mysteries of a world not unlike our own. The first issue of the series was released in March 2017 and there have been 32 more issues since, as well as live events, cross-collaborations, prints, merchandise, sculptures, photography and other creative ephemera set in the same universe.
In its original format, each issue of CPP consisted of an illustrated envelope, containing a series of loose pages that form a stand-alone chapter in Anna’s ongoing story. You begin by reading the first page, studying the illustration and puzzling out the right shard of information to help you solve the next page, and so on until you reach the final answer. The entire back catalogue has now been digitised and is available to download in PDF format from the online store. Or try the first three for free here.
The back issues from the series are no longer in print as the first 18 were picked up by a publisher. They have undergone huge edits and updates to flesh out the world and make the story more consistent and immersive, in order to be printed together as a single book. Therefore, even seasoned readers should expect new details and deep lore they weren’t party to previously. For this reason, a new publication entitled Anna and the Sybonite City will be released in 2024 as both a jumping-on point for new readers and a refresher-update for existing fans of the series. This will contain maps, character profiles, timelines and other lore as well as the next chapter in the ongoing series.
Beyond this, all future chapters will be released exclusively via the Patreon page. Please see the information there for more details.
